| Ball Skills: |
Although his right hand is his dominant hand, he can
effectively use his left. Perimeter ball skills: Good handle and effective passer. Is used
to break the press against pressing teams. Not extremely quick with the ball, but
difficult to take it away from him. |
| Shot Selection/Range: |
Plays the front line, but has the freedom to shoot
anywhere. Has three-point range, but most effective 15 feet / in and going to the basket. |
| Conduct/Attitude: |
Very intense competitor. Aggressiveness gets him in foul
trouble at times. Does not back down from a challenge. A leader who team mates look up to
and respect. Very intelligent game. Understands what it takes to contribute to a winning
team. A team player that is very supportive of his team mates. |
| Offensively: |
Is a scorer, not a pure shooter. Greater percentage of his
scoring comes on post up moves; going to the basket; put backs and short range jumpers.
Needs to improve coming off screens for shots at the next level. In high school, his
long-range shots are usually unchallenged, so his release is slow. Needs to get a quicker
shot release to play two spot or wing in college. |
| Defensively: |
Team plays a lot of match up zones and zone presses. He has
average foot speed. That's the big question that all the "majors" ask: "Is
he quick enough to defend the perimeter?" The answer is YES, because he's such an
intelligent player. He covers passing lanes well and has excellent anticipation. Is a
strong rebounder, who doesn't shy away from contact under the boards. |
| Games Scouted/Circumstances: |
Against Bronson (undefeated at the time); a strong Mattawan
team; Hackett Catholic Central and Delton-Kellogg. Large crowd (SRO for Bronson, Hackett
and Delton-Kellogg) at all games. |
| Projected Level of Play: |
Mid-level Division 1 or Upper Division II. |
